Based in Njombe, Highlands Organic Limited once faced a major branding challenge. While the products were organic and highquality, the packaging and labeling did not attract customers effectively.
Through the Organic Value Chain Development(OVCD) Project, SAT supported the company with professional label redesign and access to food-grade packaging
The Result: A new, modern organic retailshop in Njombe, an increase in sales, and a stable market for over 40 smallholder farmers.

Nita Food Products: A Women-Led Organic Brand

Lilian Mbando’s journey from a small kitchen processor to supplying tourist hotels in Arusha and shopping malls in Dar es Salaam is inspiring.
With SAT's support in marketing, branding, and the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) for organic certification, Nita Food Products transformed:
· Staff grew from 4 to 10 (mostly women and youth).
· Sales increased
· Secured a bank loan from commercial banks using a business plan developed through SAT training.
· Built a new, fully furnished organic processing facility in Kiserian, Arusha.
Today, Nita Food Products sits on the shelves o f Healthy Choice Organic Shop, I'm Organic Shop, Shoppers Plaza, and Mr.Discount at Mlimani City mall. SOCIAL & FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT: Beyond Farming
